Loxton is a crime-free hamlet surrounded by vast plains. Our streets are
lined with trees, some of which are over 100 years, and the town turns into
a fairytale picture of white pear blossoms in spring. We still enjoy the
traditional leiwater (flood irrigation) system, whereby water from the town's
fountain bubbles along channels into residents' gardens. Spend a while on
a stoep, and you may see a donkey cart clip-clop by…
NB: Fuel is only available from the farmer's co-op which is closed from 12h00 Sat - 08h00 Monday, and on public holidays.
